In April 2009, Spinelli’s opened its doors amid a great deal of community disaster as the tornado that killed 4 and destroyed 600 homes happened the night before our first day. Fortunately, Spinelli’s was untouched and provided safe shelter for several patrons. Through the determination of such a strong community spirit, and with the help of many outside volunteers, Mena is still being re-built better than ever. We have taken this to heart and designed the restaurant to serve as a special meal time offering the best home-cooked Italian meals to those who were affected and volunteers who continue to visit and were so needed during those first few days of survival.
The popularity of Spinelli’s is due to delicious food, warm and friendly atmosphere and exceptional service. Our namesake, Spinelli’s comes from the owners deep relationship with her Italian sister-in-law, who was the inspiration and assisted in the design of the restaurant. Through long thought out ideas and concepts, Spinelli’s was created. “We wanted a place that was comfortable, provided excellent food and service, and had all of our favorite menu items to offer,” states Amye Hebert, owner of Spinelli’s. “We will continue to strive in excellence; we want to offer more than just a local restaurant choice to our community. We would like to be a destination location for those in search for the perfect meal, amazing atmosphere and service. “
Spinelli’s is continuing to grow by expanding the outdoor eating venue to seat 60, adding an outdoor stage for live entertainment, and a Tuscan atmosphere by the décor and outdoor fireplace. The menu will be adding more seafood, veal and specialty featured entrees each weekend.
